Privacy Policy
Caliburn Technologies, Inc. ("Caliburn," "we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through caliburn.us (the "Site"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
This policy applies to the Site only. It does not cover information handled within our products or customer environments, which are governed by separate agreements. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at support@caliburn.us.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you use a form on the Site, we collect what you enter:
- ▸Contact form: your name and email address, and optionally your company, role, and phone number, along with the reason for your inquiry and your message.
- ▸Newsletter signup: your email address.
- ▸Resource downloads: your name, work email, and company. Submitting this form also adds you to our mailing list so we can send the requested material and occasional updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- ▸Careers form: your name and email address, an optional LinkedIn or portfolio link, your area of interest, an optional resume, and your message. We use this information only to evaluate your interest in working with us.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, our hosting provider records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you view, which helps us operate and secure the Site. We use privacy-focused analytics that measure Site traffic in aggregate. Our analytics do not use cookies and do not identify you individually.
Cookies and tracking
The Site does not currently set advertising or tracking cookies, and our analytics operate without cookies. If we add features in the future that rely on cookies, such as embedded video, we will update this policy and provide any choices required at that time.
To remember that you have already provided your email through one of our forms, so we do not ask again on the same device, we store a small amount of information in your browser. We use this only for that purpose. It is not used for advertising, tracking, or analytics, and we do not share it with third parties.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to respond to your inquiries, send you the newsletter or resources you request, evaluate job applications, and operate, maintain, and secure the Site. We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
Legal bases for processing (UK and EU visitors)
Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on the following legal bases: your consent for marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time; our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries and reviewing applications; steps taken at your request before entering into an agreement; and our legitimate interest in keeping the Site secure.
How we share information
We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run the Site and communicate with you:
- ▸Vercel (hosting and privacy-focused analytics)
- ▸Resend (delivery of contact and careers form submissions to our team)
- ▸Intuit Mailchimp (management of our newsletter and resource mailing list)
We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights, and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We honor recognized browser-based opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control.
International transfers
Our service providers are based in the United States, so your information may be processed there. Where required, these transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent mechanism.
Data retention
We keep newsletter and resource mailing list contacts until you unsubscribe. Contact and careers form submissions reach us by email and are not stored in a subscriber list. We keep them in our records only as long as needed to handle your inquiry or evaluate your application, and for a reasonable period afterward in case a suitable role arises, then we delete them. Technical logs and aggregate analytics are retained by our providers under their standard practices.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ▸access the personal information we hold about you
- ▸correct inaccurate information
- ▸delete your information
- ▸receive a copy of your information in a portable format
- ▸opt out of marketing at any time
To exercise any of these rights, email support@caliburn.us. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, which under Texas law is 45 days. If you are in the UK or EU and believe we have not resolved your concern, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Site is intended for a professional audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
